The Diocesan Bands of Scranton provides instrumental music lessons for standard concert band instruments to students at Diocesan Schools in Grades 4-8. We give young musicians from across the Diocese a chance to learn their instruments, come together, and grow as performers alongside classmates who share their love of music as one community.
As our program grows, we hope to provide opportunities throughout the year for our students to rehearse and perform at school events, diocesan celebrations, and community concerts. Along the way, they will build more than musical skill — they learn discipline, teamwork, and the confidence that comes from working hard toward something as part of a group.
We believe music is a gift meant to be shared and every rehearsal and performance is a chance for our students to grow in ability and character. Whether a student is just starting out or already comfortable on their instrument, there's a place for them in our program.
